Machine Options

The following is a list of options by product family, available on our machines. When ordering a machine, some options may be more appropriate for your production line than others. Please contact us for more detailed information. Use the links below to read about the machine options available to each product family.

Accu-Feed

-Machine Set-up and Controls:
  • Recipe Database system with Barcode Scanner controls selection of velocity, length, gap and more for foolproof, rapid setup from pre-loaded and saved recipes. (Requires Color Touch Screen.)
  • Custom Entrance and Exit Guides to mount to your machine to fit any of the many grinder configurations
  • Outboard PRF, precision step motor type (0.6m/s speed), with interface cable and interconnection tubing
  • Mechanical OD Gauging Module, verifies max OD to .0005 inch tolerance
  • AGF-3M Extended Length option to AGF-2M, increases max part length to 3.1 meters (121 inches). Note, all other capabilities remain the same. Machine length is increased to 3.5m
-Part Picking:
  • Extra Pick Heads (Guidewire) provide flexibility to pick and feed various wire sizes on one Accu-Feed machine. Spare pick head is recommended for critical applications. (Price varies dependent upon pick head size and machine – Contact ASG for details.)
  • Extra Pick Heads (Tubing) provide flexibility to pick and feed various catheters and small tubing materials and sizes on one Accu-Feed machine. Spare pick head is recommended for critical applications. (Price varies dependent upon pick head size and machine – Contact ASG for details.)
-Part Feeding and Retraction:
  • Positioning Sensor, non-contact optical sensor that allows feeding a part to a precise position more than a part length from the feeder output, or sequencing a part from one PRF to another. (Requires purchase of the Outboard PRF.)
  • Synchronization option, matches outgoing part speed to the speed of your processing equipment and provides programmable gap between parts (Contact ASG for more info on extruder and grinder feeders)
  • Combiner allows up to 4 parts to be introduced into a track from different sources.
  • Second Integrated Feeder for sheath (includes one pick head)
-Part Cutting and Output:
  • Cutoff Unit, precision carbide, with programmable blade indexing, precision part location, and part catch tray. (Option is available for AGF, AGF-2M, or AGF-3M machines.)
  • Cutoff Module works with Automatic Cut to Length Control System to cut multiple parts from a single input length. Order Automatic Cut to Length Control System separately above.
  • Output Ejection System for processes that require containment of the part in the output section during processing (CL grinding, high voltage testing and similar). The programmable system pulls parts out of your process and ejects them into a bin. With a simple setup, the system handles a large range of parts up to a standard max length of 48 inches. (Contact ASG for non-standard part lengths.)
  • Reject Bin output provides collection bin for output rejects. (Requires purchase of Output Ejection system.)

Accu-Reel

-Machine Set-up and Controls:
  • Recipe Database system with Barcode Scanner controls selection of velocity, length, gap and more for foolproof, rapid setup. (Requires Color Touch Screen.)
  • Tension Adjustment Switch (Low-Medium-High) for running various materials and processes.
-Part Dereeling and Feeding:
  • LTD-T Low Tension Dereeler for tubing, integrated into system.
  • LTD-W Low Tension Dereeler for wire, integrated into system.
  • Large Diameter option for LTD, increases max material diameter from .300 to .500.

Accu-Cut

-Machine Set-up and Controls:
  • Auto-Gap automated system for crush gap setup and control for gentle material handling and precising
  • Micro-Drive for precision crush gap setup and control.
  • Sequencing or Kitting function allows designation of up to a 36 part sequence.
  • Recipe Database system with Barcode Scanner eliminates operator induced errors in machine setup. (Requires Color Touch Screen and Auto-Gap upgrades above.)
  • Remote Master HMI with Recipe Database system with Barcode Scanner eliminates operator induced errors in machine setup and downloads recipes to tube cutter and printer.
-Part Loading:

  • Operator Single Part Request Function includes a push bar actuated single part feed function.
  • Auto-Load system speeds loading and minimizes scrap, includes input guide with cover, optical part sensor, and upgraded software. Other sizes are available for micro tubing and larger tubing. (Required for Feeder integrated systems.)
  • In-feed roller guide for low friction input of extremely stretchy and/or sticky materials, not compatible with Auto-Load.
  • Inlet PRF (Pinch Roll Feeder) for high traction feeding of materials, not compatible with Auto-Load
  • Custom length Input Shelf mounts to support part during cutting, priced by 1-inch increments
  • Large Diameter option increases max material diameter from .300 to .500, includes one bushing upgrade to large diameter, Lutz 40 degree blade clamp, and 10 Lutz 4320GS blades in lieu of GEM clamp and blades.
  • On-line Extruder Synchronizer (202L/S) includes dancer arm, custom software, and stand for on-line operations with high line speeds.
-Part Cutting:

  • High Speed option increases max index speed from 14 to 40 ips and max acceleration from 200 to 1000 ips2. Includes a more powerful index motor, a stronger drive train, and a vibration damper. Recommended for heavy materials as well as high speed operations (Max rate of 300 ppm).
  • Ultra High Speed option for on-line applications increases max index speed to 60 ips and max acceleration to 2000 ips2. Includes a motorized high speed blade drive, and a low-inertia encoder. (Max rate of 600 ppm).
  • Narrow Slot Bushing option includes one upgrade to narrow slot bushing and a double edge style blade clamp in place of standard clamp.
  • Large Diameter Bushing for cutting materials over 0.257 inches. (Requires Large Diameter option and works with Lutz blades.)
  • Extra Bushings provide flexibility to cut various materials and sizes on each Accu-Cut machine. (Price varies dependent upon bushing size and machine – Contact ASG for details.)
  • PEEK Option adds adjustable blade damping for smooth cutting action, plus a special blade for tough plastics including PEEK and polycarbonate.
  • 45-degree Angled Cut option comprises a blade adapter set and special bushings that allow the part to be sliced at 45 degrees. This guillotine cut system is designed for tubing up to .50 inches diameter and is compatible with downstream options and applications.
  • Dual Cut option comprises a removable outboard 45-degree cutter head, combined with a custom bushing for the diameter. This unit is separate from the standard blade and allows a straight cut and angled cut on the same part. Available only on new machines and includes special software that handles diameters up to .50 inch. (May not function concurrently with Scrap Eject, Deionizer, and Jar or Bag Loader – contact ASG for details.)
  • Tip Reference option combines a non-contact electro-optical sensor and optional software to provide accurate tip location so that the part can be cut to length by cutting the trailing end only.
  • Rotary Mandrel with Reticle (70m only) is mounted on a positioning stage for precise reference from an optical feature allowing precise control of the cut position.
  • Alcohol Dispenser for smooth, clean cuts and improved feeding of silicone, PVC, polyurethane, Pebax and similar materials.
  • Pneumatic blade force control (70m only) is an air spring adjustable blade force control to improve yield and productivity and to reduce operator fatigue.
-Part Slitting and Flaring:
  • Slit and Flare requires purchase of flaring and slitting options, but allows these functions to be combined on one part (flared on one end, slit on the other). Either option may be turned on or off.
  • CSF Cut and Slit Bushing is required for slit option when Flare option is NOT purchased. Option provides one tool for cut and slit of a specific diameter range.
  • Short Part Cutoff Tool for cut and flare system provides the capability to cut very short (10mm) lengths. (This added blade and software system is required for cut lengths less than 45mm.)
  • Tooling for Auto Slitting TFE tubing provides independently (touch screen) programmable slit length at one end of the tube using a removable automatic slitting tool. Base machine is a fully functional Accu-Cut 202L.
  • Barcode keyed Tool Box for CSF tool set facilitates barcode recipe selection of CSF tooling (one box per toolset). Each box is custom keyed to hold a matched, keyed set of CSF tools for a specific barcode ID, tying the toolset to the recipe.
  • Auto Slitting (no flare) provides independently programmable lengthwise slitting of one end of the tube. Slit length is touch screen programmable, and slit tool is integrated into output options bracket and is removable. Base machine is a fully functional Accu-Cut 202L.
  • Auto Slitting (with flare) provides independently programmable lengthwise slitting of one end of the tube. Slit length is touch screen programmable. On the CSF, the minimum part length for a 3mm slit length is 25mm. (Option includes one CSF slit bushing and requires the mechanical flare option.)
  • Mechanical Flaring provides independently programmable flaring of one end of the tube. Flaring is touch screen programmable, and base machine is a fully functional Accu-Cut 202L. The option includes 1 flare bushing in place of standard bushing, one flare rotary collet, one CSF drive wheel, and one mechanical flare tool.
  • Mechanical Flare Mandrel is required for mechanical flaring and is customized to your flare profile. Mandrel is coated for PE and uncoated for TFE.
  • Thermal Flaring provides independently programmable flaring of one end of the tube. Flaring is touch screen programmable, and base machine is a fully functional Accu-Cut 202L. Requires mechanical flaring package, and includes one thermal flare tool.
  • Flare Rotary Collet is required for thermal flaring. Precision requires one collet per part O.D.
-Part Output:

  • Micro-Clean Electronic Deionizer removes static and cling so parts do not stick together or to output capture devices. (Must be purchased with jar or bag loader.)
  • Sensor activated Single Part Delivery Function detects removal of a part and automatically cuts and positions another part in the same manner as the single part request function but without operator action. (Requires purchase of the single part request function.)
  • Micro-Sort HS (High Speed) OOT (out of tolerance) Divert System interfaces to customer supplied defect inspection and tracking system and cuts and separates defective sections. System includes sensor to confirm exit of material from scrap tube prior to indexing.
  • Auxiliary PRF Indexer downstream of the blade reduces the minimum tail length necessary to handle the part from standard .75 inch to .1 inch, allowing shorter incoming material length and reduced scrap..
  • Air Conveyor. Moves parts to output capture device. Must be ordered with deionizer if no bag loader or jar loader is ordered
  • Micro-Sort Scrap Eject system for tubing up to .187 O.D., separates scrap ends from input sticks. (Requires purchase of Auto-Load and Micro-Bin Jar Loader, Bag Loader, or Air Conveyor)
  • Micro-Sort LD Scrap Eject system for tubing up to .375 O.D., separates scrap ends from input sticks. (Requires purchase of Auto-Load and Micro-Bin Jar Loader, Bag Loader, or Air Conveyor.)
  • Micro-Sort XLD Scrap Eject system for tubing up to .500 O.D., separates scrap ends from input sticks. (Requires purchase of Auto-Load and Micro-Bin Jar Loader, Bag Loader, or Air Conveyor.)
  • Micro-Bin Jar Loader recommended for capturing short, cut parts (up to 6mm OD and 3cm length) in a laboratory grade plastic 8 oz. jar for easy removal and storage.
  • Ziploc Bag Loader captures parts 3 to 30cm in length in an easily removable, sealable bag for contamination free handling.
  • Custom Bag Loader is designed for 5 second bag changes. (Requires purchase of the Ziploc Bag Loader and ships in place of the standard adapter.)
  • Output Bin Loader handles parts up to 1.5m long. (Includes required Air Conveyor.) Can be ordered with or without the jar loader.
  • Output Stacker pulls soft materials such as silicone, polyurethane, and PVC from the tube cutter output into a neat stack with closely aligned ends, ready for bagging or automated feeding. Standard maximum part length is 60 inches, but any length can be specified. The output tray holds hundreds of parts and is fully guarded. (Contact ASG for quote on longer lengths.)
  • Linear Pick Place Output Stacker pulls part through the tube cutter and onto a stack with minimal sliding and no contact with part during drying. Handles parts up to 60 inches long. (Contact ASG for quote on longer lengths.)

-Other User Requirements and Needs
  • Rotary Table This high quality aluminum extruded anodized rotary stand provides precise alignment of the three machines for variable production. A rotating “lazy Susan” type mount makes it quick and easy to change from the stick feeding CPF to the spool dereeling LTD and back. The stand can also be equipped with wheels to be moved from one line to another to provide ultimate flexibility.
  • Stand Extension for any machine. Extension beyond standard 4 foot length to increase bin size on either end, per 12 inch length
  • Wheels, swiveling and locking, polyurethane, for any stand-mounted machines.
  • Vertical Pedestal Mount 202LP system converts 202L to vertical operation. System includes aluminum mounting stand, special Accu-cut 202L cover for vertical mounting, antistatic low mass pulleys for material path, and more. System easily interfaces to bag loader/sealer.
  • Interlocked Safety Guard with double action (hinge-up and removable) over blade area.
  • Lexan Enclosure on anodized aluminum, with double front doors, no interlock, encloses all equipment except remote HMI
  • 220VAC Operation (a voltage choice is required if the deionizer option is chosen.)
  • CE Certification includes active safety guard over blade area and complies with CE requirements for machines to be used in Europe or other locales requiring or desiring it.
